PhotoShelter

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

I’ve been pretty happy with smugmug, but today I came across PhotoShelter, which purports to be a smugmug type service meant for Pro photographers. Interesting features include the ability to upload RAW images and that they provide strong backup features.
It had always annoyed me that you couldn’t upload RAW images to smugmug. They probably have […]

Aperture slow even on the G5

Sunday, February 5th, 2006

I stopped by the Apple store in downtown SF yesterday because we were walking around for a bit. I got a chance to play with Aperture on a G5 PowerMac with the 30 inch display. And to tell you the truth, I wasn’t that impressed. I was expecting/hoping for much improved performance, but it seemed […]

Mucking with Smugmug

Monday, November 21st, 2005

Finally got around to customizing my smugmug page a little bit. Nothing too drastic at this point, just trying to add more shades of gray, get rid of vomit green, and de-emphasize the not-so-important elements.

dual […]

And then there’s the […]

And then some more.

Went around a bit of Golden Gate Park with a new camera bag and some new lenses to play with. A F1.8 50mm prime, and a 70-210mm long zoom. Here are some of the results.

I guess this place is quickly turning into a place where I just advertise my photos. Anyways, here’s the new batch.

Inexpensive RAW converters for the mac.

Sunday, August 21st, 2005

So it looks like there are only three reasonably priced RAW conversion programs for the Mac: Bibble Pro 4.3 (~130$), Capture One LE 3.7.1 ($99), and Nikon Capture 4.3 ($99).
I tried all three, and Capture One LE seems to have the best output. It’s large advantage in my case is that it is very […]
